League leaders Monkton Swifts edged a five goal thriller against Saundersfoot Sports and opened up an impressive ten point lead.

With other results once again going the way for the Swifts, Joe Lewis’ team are currently sitting pretty with the title in sight.

Their next four games are key as they play all the top sides, Goodwick United, Hakin United, Carew and Merlins Bridge.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 24th minute, Jake Seaton powered home a header at a corner.

Ben Steele drilled in his side’s second to give the Swifts a comfortable two-goal cushion at half time.

On the hour mark and Sports pulled one back, following a goal mouth scramble Adam Davidson got the vital scoring touch.

The Swifts added a crucial third on the 75 minute mark, striker James Russell coolly slotting past Sam Franklin.

On the final whistle the hosts were awarded a penalty which Jack Franklin clinically despatched, but the Swifts were mighty relived to seal yet another victory in their quest to win the title.
