Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division 1: Narberth 1-3 Pennar Robins

Three first half goals set the tone for Pennar Robins who deservedly beat Narberth at Jesse Road.

The visitors got off to a bright start when they took the lead in the ninth minute. A long ball over the top fell to Nick Willis the midfielder held up possession before neatly passing to right back Josh Clark who wasted little time in drilling into the far corner.

And on the 20 minute mark the Robins increased the lead, once again Willis assisted this time setting up striker Ben Adams who slid-in from six yards out.

Ten minutes before half time and the visitors killed off the game, a sublime pass by Thomas Grimwood fell to the on rushing Sam Southcott who raced clear and duly slotted past Jason Jones into the back of the net.

In the second half the Bluebirds pulled back a consolation goal as defender Brychan David pounced from inside the box.

  • Before the game both sides came together to mark World Down Syndrome Day - which took place last week. The teams wore odd socks, and in the team photo was Templeton School pupil Lewis Jones, 4, who has the condition and is the son of Narberth keeper Jason Jones.
