Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division 1: Merlins Bridge 14-0 Narberth

Joe Leahy struck six times as Merlins Bridge showed no sign of slowing down their pursuit of the title against Narberth.

Leahy had a hat trick within 11 minutes of kick off, and Will Haworth also scored five as the Wizards extended their winning league run to 10 games with an eventual 14-0 scoreline. 

Narberth were severely depleted and had fought hard in the afternoon to raise a side, and after starting with 1-0 down in two minutes when Leahy struck.

Will Haworth scored soon after before Leahy added his second and third to make it 4-0.

He was at it again after 19 minutes and then Will Haworth, brother Laurie, Richard Hughes and Nathan Greene all struck to make it 9-0.

And two minutes before half time Leahy made it five for the half and double figures at half time.

The Bluebirds held out for the first 20 minutes of the second half but then Will Haworth took over with three more goals in 15 minutes - and with time running out Leahy completed a double hat trick and the rout.

For Narberth the game signalled the end of their season, and they will finish ninth.

Elsewhere in Division One, Herbie’s tough season ended with 12-0 home defeat to Carew. The Rooks continued their momentum with as Jordan Richards also notched a double hat trick to go with a treble from Alex Bayley (3), Zac Rowell, James Hinchcliffe and Tom Arthur.

Hakin meanwhile, won 3-2 at Neyland with goals from Shane Walsh, Dan Evans, and Justin Harding. Olly Hughes and Geraint Rees struck for the Nomads, who will end their campaign tenth unless Saundersfoot can win on Saturday.
