Division 2: Johnston (177 for 5) drew with Pembroke Dock (172 for 8)
At long last, Johnston were able to celebrate a positive result as they just about held on to get the better of a tense draw with Pembroke Dock.
After starting the campaign with two quick defeats, the Glebelands boys batted first and were led by Geno Cleal and new signing Josh Hicks.
Cleal made 54 while Hicks hammered 50, and they were backed up by Lewis Boswell as he made 39.
Dock skipper Nick Daley took 2-44 for the visitors, while Scott Griffiths (1-40) and Neil Brunton (1-32) also had a wicket - a seemingly par score.
And in nervy run chase, Liam James did the main damage for Johnston, taking 4-52.
The Dock did get close though with Luke Murray (35), Griffiths (45) and Billy Wood (42) all in the runs but ultimately, after 45 overs they fell five short of a tie as Mark Hicks (1-28), and Hazif Faarooq (2-19) also bowled well.
It meant Johnston finished the day with 18 points and the Dock 11, and the home side moved above Cresselly 2nds and off the bottom of the table.
