Division 1: Cresselly (218-8) drew with Carew (219-6)

To say it was a tight finish at Cresselly would be an understatement as Carew got the better of the draw - but only by a single run after matters went down to the final ball.

Matthew Lewis needed a six at the death to win it for The Doves, but could only launch Iori Hicks for a one ball four as The Rooks took 19 points to Cresselly's 13.

Batting first, Nick Scourfield laid the foundations for Carew as the opener looked in great form for his 74, hitting seven fours and three sixes before eventually holing out to Iwan Izzard off the bowling of Lewis.

Tom Davies also continued his form with four sixes in his 82 and there was a quickfire 38 from Shaun Whitfield - but the home side struck back late on as Carew went from 200-1 to 219-6.

Cresselly wickets fell to Lewis (1-39), the recently returned Tom Murphy (3-32) and Simon Cole (1-30).

It was Cole who then led the Cresselly reply after opener Dan Sutton had made 31, striking ten fours and a six in his 74.

Iwan Izzard also made 43 - but matters were left on a knife edge by Tom Davies (4-63) and Whitfield (3-36) as Cresselly entered the final over needing 14.

Hicks held his nerve though to dismiss Murphy for 32, and with Sam Harts at the other end Lewis was just short of the rope off the final ball.

But despite putting on a great contest, both sides fell further behind Neyland in the title race as they sit third (Carew) and fourth (Cresselly) respectively.
