The vibe was certainly a good one at the 2019 Rolex Sponsored British Grand Prix last weekend.

Not necessarily just for race winner Lewis Hamilton though, but for a group of young dancers from Pembrokeshire who did both themselves and their county proud.

It was last October at the British Championships in Blackpool when members of the Vibe School of Dance, based in Pater Hall in Pembroke Dock, were spotted by scouts looking to put on an epic national event.

Sure enough, owner Hannah Davey was promptly contacted and 16 of her dancers were selected for auditions in Cardiff and then London - before being duly selected to perform on the Formula 1 circuit at Silverstone.

So surrounded by more than 125,000 spectators, the youngsters performed alongside other groups on Saturday before the qualifying took place, giving Hannah herself reason to be proud.

"The whole day was absolutely amazing and now the girls are part of history," she told Telegraph Sport.

"It was one of the biggest mass movement dance presentations at a major sporting event anywhere in the world in 2019.

"They couldn't believe they were doing it in front of such a big audience. I think we are the only school in Pembrokeshire to ever performed at an event like this and all the girls were professional and well behaved.

"It was definitely a proud day."

Sure enough, the group are set to be invited back again in 2020 and Hannah said she'd be delighted if they could perform again.

And it was certainly a weekend to remember for all involved, with the group staying in London and visiting Buckingham Palace on the Sunday.

  • Hannah and her dancers also issued a huge thankyou to the Pro Excel team who invited them up to Silverstone.
