The 2019 Trefloyne Men’s Club Championships will be remembered for the amazing weather that graced both days of the 36-hole medal competition.
The gross winner was always likely to come from the golfer who coped best with the lively fairways and quick greens, but the nett scores reflected a tight and high quality competition.
In fifth place was club captain Simon Arthur with a total of 171, who was pipped on count back by fourth placed Meurig Evans. In third place was Dan Edwards who had a cracking Saturday with a gross 79, but couldn’t repeat it on Sunday carding 88 for a total of 167.
Runner up was George Taylor who managed 81 and 80 for a gross 161, but the winner of the 2019 Trefloyne Men’s Club Championship was Ryan Townsend, who scored 75 and 77 for a superb total of 152, a six over par gross for the two days.
In the nett category Rob Evans, a long-time club member, was fifth with a nett 149, with George Taylor beat him into fourth on count back.
In third was Mark Ensor with a score of 148, Ryan Townsend was second with 142, and the 2019 Men’s Nett Champion was Meurig Evans, who scored 71 and 70 for an excellent aggregate score of 141.
