Division 1: Goodwick United 4-0 Saundersfoot Sports
Rhys Dalling scored a terrific brace to help Goodwick United to their expected victory over Saundersfoot Sports at Phoenix Park.
The hosts opened the scoring early as striker Jordan Griffiths made no mistake with a close-range volley.
Just before the break and The Phoenix Boys added a second, Jonny Horgan’s pinpoint cross fell for Rhys Dalling to finish with aplomb at the far post.
Five minutes after half time and the visitors were awarded a penalty. Goodwick United player boss Wayne O’Sullivan brought down Adam Davidson from behind. Up stepped Jack Franklin who struck firmly from 12 yards, but James Gwilt pulled off a fantastic save.
On 55 minutes the hosts were awarded a penalty, as Dalling was upended by Rhys Bates. Scott Delaney took responsibility and coolly slotted to give his side a 3-0 cushion.
The best goal of the game was scored on the 70-minute mark, Dalling cut in from the left and unleashed an unstoppable 20-yard shot which flew in the roof of the net.
Saundersfoot Sports can be pleased they frustrated Goodwick for long periods of the game, they also carved put some decent chances.
