Senior Cup Round 1: Johnston 5-2 Angle

Not so long ago this was a top flight fixture - but there was plenty of promise on show at Glebelands today as Johnston beat a young Angle side in the Senior Cup.

The Tigers are continuing to rebuild themselves while theirvisitors, who have reformed this season after folding in the summer of 2018, have a squad largely based on their former under 16 team.

Club stalwart Andrew Thomas was in goal for Angle and his squad acquitted themselves well, but the home side were too strong as they turned a 3-1 half time lead into an eventual 5-2 win.

Ryan Doyle starred for the home side with a hat trick, and there were also goals from Tom Pratt and Jamie Davies.

For Angle, James Davies and Jarvis Braddon struck.

"It's really nice to see Angle back in the Pembrokeshire League," said Johnston player-coach Paul Jones afterwards.

"They have youngsters showing a lot of promise and the team has potential."
