Ffos Las host an exciting seven race National Hunt card on (today) Thursday afternoon and experts at Racing Post have previewed the action, focusing on the chances of Pembrokeshire trainers at their local track.

Both Peter Bowen and Rebecca Curtis will be hoping for victories and its Ms Curtis who boasts the most impressive record, sending out winners in four of the six occasions she's entered contestants, boasting a level stakes profit of £14.25 from every £1 staked this season.

On the other hand Mr Bowen, who saddles just one runner, would be incredibly fortunate to enter the winner's enclosure.

Race by race guide: locally trained horses

Going: heavy

12:25: 2m4f K P Tyres And Exhausts Maiden Hurdle (Class 4)

Wayfinder is Rebecca Curtis' first runner of the day as the racing gets underway at 12:25pm. The five year-old impressed with a maiden bumper victory at Worcester on his rules debut in October, but struggled next time out when he was favourite on his hurdles debut at Stratford. He's amongst the outsiders in the market at around 5/1 for this contest, but with valuable experience under his belt he's not readily dismissed.

2:05: 2m4f West Wale Properties Handicap Hurdle (Class 3)

With no horse in the 1:00 and the 1:35 races, the next Curtis' next horse to focus on is Dalaman and the eight year-old is an outsider at 7/1. A triple winner over hurdles in 2017 but he's largely struggled since and has changed hands over that time as well. He returns to the track after a 216 day absence it and it would seem a surprise if he were to feature prominently today.

2:40: 2m4f Specsavers Llanelli Mares’ Handicap Hurdle (Class 5)

Special Princess is Miss Curtis' next and last horse to run and her first favourite of the day at 11/4. Special Princess was victorious over 3m last time out, but having been raised a hefty 10lb by the handicapper for that win he may still have a bit to prove at this level.

3:10: 3m11/2f Park Dean Resorts Pendine Sands Handicap Chase (Class 5)

General Malarkey is Mr. Bowen's only runner of the day and his chances of winning are slim as the rank outsider at 16/1. Formerly with Nigel Twiston-Davies and now 0-4 with the local trainer, he's in need of something special if he is to win this race.
