Division 1: Clarbeston Road 6-2 Pennar Robins

It was a game of two halves at Clarby Road as the home side stormed back from 2-0 down to beat Pennar Robins.

Conditions favoured the visitors in the first half and they took advantage after just five minutes - as Tom Grimwood’s inswinging corner wasn’t cleared and Josh Hicks prodded the ball home from close range.

Then on the 35 minute mark, it was 2-0 as Connor Roberts picked up possession inside his own half and drove at the home defence before producing a clinical finish past David Pepper into the bottom corner.

But after the break the tide turned and after 55 minutes Richard Bevan pounced on a rebound to pull one back.

Then Ben ‘Rocky’ John levelled matters as he managed to twist away from three defenders and beat Pennar keeper Gareth Stewart with a low shot.

Moments later it was 3-2 as Joules Ward struck through a crowded area from outside the box and the unsighted Stewart couldn’t keep it out.

Clarby player manager Matthew Ellis came off the bench to make it 4-2 as his wind assisted corner flew directly into the net, and then Keegan Summers added the fifth, sweeping home the loose ball after a good save from Stewart.

Bevan then got his second late on as Clarby made it an impressive 12 league points from 12, while Pennar have now gone four games without a win.
