Justin Blewitt has spent much of the last 20 years at Pendine AFC and has been pivotal as both a player and a manager.

Aside from a short stint in the top flight with Narberth Blewitt, who last season led the club to Third Division Cup glory, has seen all the highs and lows the Seagulls have gone through since 1999.

However, he admitted he needed help with selection so asked others to name their own sides before collaborating a final squad together.

GOALKEEPER - ANDREW HAMID

We have had some quality keepers through the years but it was Hamid who got the nod. Very agile keeper and a great shot stopper.

RIGHT CENTRE BACK - TERENCE LANGDON

Stalwart of the club and still Chairman to this day, and a real hard man who took no prisoners. Started his career as a pacey striker before dropping back to be a solid centre half. Loved a tackle.

CENTRE – BACK JULIAN JAMES

Rock at the back and another who loved a tackle. One of the toughest blokes you would meet, good on the ball and super fit. Life was tragically cut short far too early.

LEFT CENTRE BACK - SIMON EVANS

‘Evs’ was one of the best headers of a ball you could ever see. Dominated nearly every game aerially and was very decent on the floor. A brilliant left foot, he was the most selected player from all the teams submitted.

DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER - ROBERT BLEWITT

Solid, reliable and hard working. Happy to just sit between defence and midfield and let everybody else play and get the headlines. A real team player.

RIGHT MIDFIELD - JUSTIN BLEWITT

An honour and a privilege to have been selected alongside these players. I had a few seasons at Narberth to experience Division One football but am a one club man otherwise and I will always be a seagull at heart! Still hoping to experience Division One with Pendine one day - if my legs can keep going long enough!

CENTRE MIDFIELD - PHIL RUGG

Great organiser, wand of a left foot, good on the ball and could read the game brilliantly. A real intelligent player. Had a couple of good seasons with Carew in the 1st Division too.

CENTRE MIDFIELD - ALUN STEVENS

Class act on the ball and very rarely gave it away. Had to have a few pints beforehand (and a fag at half time) though to be on top of his game!

LEFT MIDFIELD - MICHAEL BLEWITT

Beat players for fun and probably the most fouled player I have seen. People just couldn't stop him when he got going and had no other choice but to bring him down. Ankle problems cut short his career but he is still involved and following the club with his son Jamie - one of the current squad.

STRIKER - ROBERT DESCHOOLMEESTER

‘Schooly’ was one of the best number 9s you will see. Had it all - good feet, strong in the air, could hold it up, get in behind defences and a top finisher. Does a lot of running and cycling now and I'm still trying to get him to dig his boots out again - but he is having none of it.

STRIKER - STEVEN TURNER

I never saw him play personally but everyone who did has nothing but praise for his ability. A class act for the club before he emigrated to Australia.

SUBSTITUTES

LEE LEWIS

Quality centre half. Good on the ball and could read the game well. Had a decent turn of pace too. Integral part of our double cup winning side and has been involved in the management set up since hanging up his boots.

SHANE DAVIES

Solid all round midfielder with a top engine. Would run all day and had great feet. Quality set piece taker too.

LEE WATERS

Sweet, sweet left foot and quality on the ball. Hit the bar with a screamer during our Second Division Cup final win in the early part of the century and I think the bar is still rattling! Career was cut short by a serious knee injury.

MANAGER – ROGER HUNT

A very good player in his time too but was the only choice for manager really. Probably the fittest we have ever been as a team under his tenure and winner of 2 cups in one season during his time as manager. Not a person you wanted to get on the wrong side of!!
