Rugby remains in lockdown, but two former Ysgol Dewi Sant pupils are on the move.

Welsh internationals Jasmine Joyce and Lisa Neumann both finalised transfers yesterday ahead of the 2020/21 Premier 15s season in England.

Joyce has resigned for Bristol Bears Women and fellow winger Neumann has switched from Firwood Waterloo Ladies to the Sale Sharks.

Joyce, 24, was due to be in Tokyo this summer for what would have been her second appearance at an Olympic Games with the Team GB 7s squad.

But while the 24-year-old still intends to play in that tournament next summer, for now her focus will be with the club she last represented in 2017.

“I’m so excited to be returning the Bristol and I’m looking forward to a new challenge down in the West Country," said Joyce.

“I’m always wanting to improve my performance and I feel Bristol is the perfect place to do that as I’ll be surrounded by great people, great coaches and top-class facilities.

“I was a part of the Bristol family a few seasons ago and I loved every second of it, so I’m sure it’ll be another great season.”

Neumann, 26, played in every fixture in the 2020 Six Nations Championship prior to the final match being postponed and has been impressing for the RGC region.

After signing for Sale she said: “I’m really excited to be joining Sale Sharks Women this upcoming season.

"It is such a great opportunity to play top level rugby and continue to develop my game in an elite performance setting. I can’t wait to get started and challenge for a place in the starting team.”

Both women played for Haverfordwest Ladies and also Scarlets before becoming internationals.
