The Narberth team of the 21st century has been selected by current manager Ryan Williams and dad Nigel.

The latter has captained the club and is one of the most prominent players to have represented the Bluebirds since 2000, so unsurprisingly features alongside other stalwarts from the start of the century.

Here is what the father and son duo came up with, with Liam doing the narrating.

GOALKEEPER - HUW DAVIES

Huw made his debut for the first team as a 16-year-old. He also won a Welsh Schoolboys' cap and played in a Senior Cup final aged just 18. He was an excellent keeper, a great shot stopper, could get down easily to low balls and wasn't afraid to get in where it hurt. Could also turn defence into attack quickly. He did leave for a while to play Welsh League but returned to represent the club in his second Senior Cup final. Also served the club as assistant manager for a number of seasons.

RIGHT BACK - RICHARD HENTON

H was an outstanding defender who always gave 100%. So strong in the tackle, and had the ability to get the ball out of defence quickly and start an attack. Good passer of the ball who likes to link with the midfield and was always keen to get forward on the overlap. Should have played longer but injury forced him to retire.

CENTRE BACK - DAVY JOHN

Narberth born and bred and played all his senior football for the club. A player who is always strong on the tackle and never gives an inch. A good distributor of the ball, he always looks to get on the ball, is happy to do his defensive duties, and isn't afraid to push forward in support. Played a number of games for the firsts this season and still gives 100%.

CENTRE BACK - KYLE QUARTERMAINE

One of the first names down in this team. Known for having a hot head but his defensive ability is the best I've seen. Great in the air and always there to clean up at the back. Most strikers who have faced him will label him as up there with the toughest opponents they've faced.

LEFT BACK - PHIL 'DILLY' SCOURFIELD

One of Narberth's best defenders, playing left back before moving to sweeper. His positioning and ability to read the game was excellent, and was never afraid to get stuck into a tackle. Was loyal to Narberth and can boast he played for the club in four different decades, and was involved last time we won the league.

DEFENSIVE MIDFIELD - NIGEL WILLIAMS (CAPTAIN)

One of the best players to have played for Narberth. His commitment to the club has been top notch and on the pitch he let his feet do the talking. Another box to box player with an eye for a pass, and a true leader who left everything on the pitch. There was plenty of goals and assists to go with the work rate and you could always count on him to life the team and turn a game around.

CENTRE MIDFIELD - RAFF BARNETT

Must have been one of the most skilfull players to don the Narberth shirt. He was the engine of the team, his work rate was second to none and he must have covered every blade of grass when he played. Liked to run with the ball and had the ability to change a game at any time, he also scored his share of goals and created a lot more. Could have played for any club in Pembrokeshire.

CENTRE MIDFIELD - RICHIE ADAMS

Had so much talent and played Welsh Premiership as well. Moved around the pitch so easily and made everything look simple. He had it all - movement, touch, finishing - and a big asset to Narberth over the years.

ATTACKING MIDFIELD - ASHLEY WILLIAMS

Box to box midfielder who thrives on driving with the ball from deep. Strong in the tackle and chips in with goals too. When the team is struggling Ash can pick things up with a tackle or run and get the boys going again.

STRIKER - WAYNE HOWELLS

Another member of the last Division 1 winning side. His career was hampered by injury but still achieved a lot. He was great on the ball and a very skilfull player who loved to run at defenders. Scored his fair share of goals, not many of which were tap ins, and made things look easy. Also collected cards too, mainly yellow ones!

STRIKER - PAUL PHILLIPS

Like Wayne, a member of the league winning team. Paul was an excellent all round player. Made his debut at 15 and could play in midfield or up front. Was strong in the air, solid on the ground and had bags of skill. He had the ability to hold the ball and make space for team mates. Loved to run at defenders and scored so many goals.

SUBSTITUTES

KARL JONES

A player with many talents and very unlucky not to be in the starting XI. A guy I've rarely seen beaten in the air, maybe not the quickest but you can guarantee he'll cover every blade of grass and always be in position. Can play anywhere through the middle of the pitch, making key tackles and chipping in with important goals in the process.

JORDAN WILLIAMS

Another player who could have made the starting team. Had the best work rate I've seen - would be the 85th minute and he'd still be running around like it was the 1st. Scored plenty of goals and had many assists in his time with us and a player we'd welcome back at any time.

JUSTIN BLEWITT

Another versatile player who could slot in anywhere on the pitch. Inspired all the players around him and could do everything with the ball. Had a good work rate, would always be there to tidy up when needed and could pick passes out of nowhere.

MANAGER - BARRY WALTERS

A very good manager who led us to the Senior Cup final, but didn't manage to pick up the trophy. Everyone who played under him enjoyed it and would listen to whatever he said. Top manager and a top bloke.
