Tenby Sailing Club had a number of races take place last week.

Last Tuesday, July 30, six crews enjoyed pleasant dinghy sailing conditions with a force 3/4 north westerly breeze.

Race officer Peter Randles was in charge of the proceedings, that witnessed Osprey crew, Dan and Matt, clinching the first position.

The following spots were taken by Osprey crew, Dave and Maurice, and RS 600, Steve respectively.

Later in the week, on Thursday, August 1, the Redwing Series Race 5 took place in a north-westerly force 3 wind, with Dewi officiating.

R241, Robin & Matt emerged victorious, while R228, Bill & Nan placed second.

Subsequently, on Saturday, August 3, the Simon Evans Trophy saw a remarkable competition between 11 boats.

Peter Randles, repeating his previous role, oversaw the races where Jon Nuttall triumphantly won two out of three and secured the overall first position.

Dan and Matt, with their Osprey, also obtained the second standing overall.

Remarkably, one of the competitors was nine-year-old Isabelle Nuttall who came in seventh place.

On the following day, August 4, Amelia and Isabelle put on a great performance in the Little Haven Regatta.

Despite gusts rising to 30 knots and the last race being cancelled, the girls still managed to secure top standings in the Junior section.

Tenby Sailing Club will host the National Merlin Rocket Championships from August 11 to 16, with more than 70 entries.

Meanwhile, club member Billy Stubbs triumphantly celebrated his grandson Edward’s achievement.

Edward, along with Noah, placed sixth in the 2024 RS Feva World Championships in the Netherlands.
