West Wales Intermediate Cup Round Three:

Goodwick United 3-0 CRC Rangers

It was a far more comfortable afternoon for Goodwick United than many had envisaged as a brace of goals from Adam Raymond eased them to a 3-0 win against last season’s beaten finalists CRC Rangers at Phoenix Park.

The visitors were guilty of ill-discipline throughout and were reduced to 10 men just four minutes in after a straight red card – and Wayne O’Sullivan’s took advantage six minutes later.

Iestyn Evans picked up a Raymond pass 18 yards from goal, and drove in a precise shot to give his side the lead.

It stayed that way until the break but two minutes after half time The Phoenix Boys added a second, as Steve Dockerty’s cross was headed into the path of Raymond by Kieran O’Brien and the skipper - playing up front in the absence of key forwards Rhys Dalling, Jordan Griffiths, and Jonny Horgan – made no mistake.

And midway through the half it was Raymond who then made the tie safe for the 2015/16 winners in style, as he set Lee Hudgell free down the left, before pushing into are to superbly volley home the left winger’s cross.

With the tie lost for the Swansea Division One side, there were further flashpoints late on as their frustration grew – but O’Sullivan’s side kept their heads to ease into the last 16.
