HAVERFORDWEST Ladies RFC played their first home game of the season against an abrasive Wattstown team on Sunday, running out 50-5 winners in division two.

Haverfordwest started slowly and were not at their best, but stared scoring on a regular basis with the half time score of 33-0.

There were strong performances from the half backs of Sophie Rees and Emily Banner, assisted by no 8 and captain Nina Colville and the rest of the pack.

The coaches were able to try some new combinations with debuts for Jess Cooke coming on at hooker and Jayde Thomas on the wing, both played really well.

The try scorers were Sophie Rees (4),Nina Colville (3) and Awen Prysor (1). Emily Banner converted five to complete a convincing win.

The coaches’ player of the match was flanker Clodagh Llewellin.

Coach Gareth Charles said: “There is much work to as they can play much better.”
