DRAGONS back row Ross Moriarty will miss Wales’ autumn internationals opener against France on Saturday through injury.
Head coach Wayne Pivac confirmed the 26-year-old picked up an ankle injury in training on Wednesday.
"Ross was down to start this Test match, but he picked up an injury in training yesterday and unfortunately won't be right for the weekend," said Pivac.
He has been replaced in the starting line-up by Dragons teammate Aaron Wainwright, and uncapped Cardiff Blues back row Shane Lewis-Hughes has been called up to the squad as a replacement.
Wales expect to discover the extent of Moriarty's injury over the next few days.
Leon Brown and Elliot Dee were both not included in Pivac's squad for the trip to France, while Jonah Holmes is set to play for Dragons at Ulster on Sunday after being released from the national squad for the weekend.
Nick Tompkins will be involved however, starting at centre with the returning Jonathan Davies.
