MILFORD cadets put forward a strong team for the west Wales district windsurfing and sailing competition recently.

Held at Margam Lake, the competition saw Marine Cadet Matiss Eglits win the 4.5m class, and Able Cadet Jago Clarke win the 5.5m category.

The team put forward an entry in every class, and while competition was tough, they also managed to take second place in the Portsmouth Yardstick category, with Cadet Liam Hooper and Cadet Dylan Roberts in an RS Feva.

The rest ranked well too, with particular praise to Junior Cadet Ben Power and Matthew MacArthur for giving the Junior Sea Cadet race a try, despite the high winds.

Having not won a windsurfing trophy since 2012, this was a good result for Milford Haven Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets.

Lieutenant (SCC) William Elliott RNR, commanding officer, said: “Once again, we are showing that we are leading the development of windsurfing within west Wales Sea Cadets from the front, our sailing teams are certainly improving.

"Thank you to the staff that take the time to put commitment alongside the cadets into the training.”
