A TALENTED and energetic young performer for Milford Haven will be among local students auditioning to perform on stage at Disneyland Paris next summer.

Nine-year-old Seren Jade Holzmann, from Hubberston, will be auditioning for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with a group of youngsters who attend Stagecoach performing arts school in Haverfordwest.

If successful, the group will get the chance to take part in a parade at Disneyland Paris, and perform on stage at the park.

Seren said she is “so excited” at the possibility, and is making sure she practises hard for the audition.

The multi-talented Milford Haven Junior School pupil is busy every night of the week, playing trombone, piano and singing, rehearsing with the school and town bands, attending Stagecoach classes, and has just started taking ballet lessons - all on top of keeping up with her schoolwork.

“She’s so bouncy and full of life, I have to coax her to bed every night,” said dad Rick.

Seren's mum Jenny was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) several years ago, and as a result can't always go to see her daughter on stage.

But if she wins a place in France, Rick said he will be filming Seren on stage so that Jenny can watch the performance at home.

Stagecoach principal Liane Evans said: “What’s lovely about Seren is she is so energetic and has got lots to give.

“It’s clearly what she wants to do and she gives it her all.

“It’s lovely to see someone so young who has that determination and passion

Liane also praised Seren's parents for the support they have given their daughter.

“Students who have the support their parents are the ones who improve and grow most,” she said.

The musical theatre fan will also be performing at the Radio Pembrokeshire Young Achiever Awards at Folly Farm this Friday, and alongside Welsh singer and performer Peter Karrie at Cardiff’s St David’s Hall on November 16.

Peter is famous for playing the role of the Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Phantom of the Opera', as well as lead roles in 'Les Miserables' and 'Chess', and he will be joining students from the Stagecoach Theatre Arts National Choir of Wales for the event.

But, seasoned professional Seren said she won’t let nerves get the better of her.

“I was nervous the first time I performed, but you’re bound to be because it’s your first time, but now I don’t get nervous at all,” she said.
