PEMBROKESHIRE County Council’s new Director of Social Services is due to start work at County Hall in September.
Jake Morgan, who is currently Head of Children’s Services at Carmarthenshire County Council, is said to have a track record of ‘successfully managing services across both education and children’s social care’.
Originally from Gloucestershire, Mr Morgan started his local government career as a social worker with the London Borough of Havering.
He then took up senior positions with the London boroughs of Sutton and Tower Hamlets before moving to Carmarthenshire in 2005.
He is a qualified social worker and has an MA in Public Administration from Warwick University.
Mr Morgan currently lives in Carmarthen and is married to Cressy. They have two children aged nine and seven.
Mr Morgan succeeds current Director Jon Skone, who is retiring at the end of this month.
By agreement with Carmarthenshire County Council, Mr Morgan will be working for Pembrokeshire for two days a week until September.
