Funhouse

Pink

The newest album by Pink, Funhouse, is angry and poppy, just as we have come to expect from the Grammy award winning artist.

Pink has been around for a long time now and each album seems to be inspired by a total image change, which she always pulls off with aplomb.

Her reinvention this time has been kick-started by her split from her motorcross riding husband, Carey Hart, and she certainly lets rip, telling the world what she thinks of her former man.

Unfortunately, a few maudlin ballads slip through, but anyone who has heard the first single released, the chart-topping So What, knows exactly why it’s probably best not to upset the feisty lady.

So What is a highly infectious tune, and once heard it goes round and round your head for the rest of the day. Pink has always had a knack for tracks like this, which is demonstrated again in the title track.

However, this album does have more to offer than Pink’s usual angry state.

She dares to share her deepest feelings with the listener, and if an artist is going to record a break-up album, this is probably the best way to do it.

It’s far from a bad album but it is certainly not her greatest, so let’s hope she perks herself up a little before her next release.
