Span Arts welcomes Jarred Christmas back to the Queens Hall stage for August's Kill for a Seat Comedy Night tonight (Thursday).
Described as "one of the funniest men to pick up a microphone", Jarred Christmas has a CV the length of an optimistic child's letter to Santa.
With comedy framed by stories of life experiences, Jarred's off-hand comments and tightly crafted jokes have helped him carve out a long career on the comedy circuit. Recently given four stars on the Edinburgh Festival Guide, Jarred has featured on popular BBC 2 comedy show Mock the Week. Originally from New Zealand, he has also starred in BBC 2's The Persuasionists, and last year won the award for best compere at the Chortle awards. He also performed Madonna's Hung Up on Let's Dance for Comic Relief.
In support this month is Iszi Lawrence; a seasoned performer who has been appearing on the stage at The Edinburgh Fringe since she was 18. She has appeared at countless festivals and made several radio appearances. In 2005, she reached the semi-finals of the BBC New Comedy Awards.
Providing the introductions this month is Kevin Dewsbury, who originally hails from Cheshire, though is often mistaken for a Yorkshire man due to his northern accent. With a history of professional acting under his belt, Kevin's killer one liners are delivered with impeccable comic timing, guaranteed to leave you wanting more!
Tickets are £10 or £8 from Span Arts.
