Span Jazz is relaunching its monthly jazz nights at The Dingle Club in Narberth tomorrow (Wednesday), with a prized performance from long time stalwart of the London jazz community, Kelvin Christiane.
Talented musician and keen composer, Christiane plays a range of instruments including the saxophone, flute, clarinet and percussion. He has been leading his own bands for the past 15 years and has an extensive involvement in jazz, blues, Latin and world music. In fact, so accomplished a saxophonist is Christiane, he's often seen playing two at once.
Regularly seen performing at major festivals in the UK and Europe, Christiane, who has eighteen CDs to his name, is a graduate from the Leeds College of Music. He has played with artists such as Bernard 'Pretty' Purdie, Pucho and the Latin Soul Bros, Jim Mullen, Gilad Atzmon, Alan Barnes, Don Weller, Bob Martin, Roland Perrins' Blue Planet Orchestra, Dave O'Higgins, Derek Nash, Steve Waterman, Peter King, Alex Garnett, John Etheridge and Dave Cliff.
The music starts at 8pm and tickets are £7 or £5 on the door.
