EVERY summer the cellist Tim Hugh leads a group of distinguished musicians to play the Rhosygilwen Proms.
This year is no exception with an ensemble drawn from the orchestra of the Royal Opera House which includes Vasko Vassiliev (violin) the concert master, Andriy Viytovych, principal viola player, Tim Hugh, principal cellist, Katerina Nazarova (violin) and Olga Stitkovetski (piano).
Tim has directed and played these Proms for the last six years and the performances are much enjoyed by chamber music lovers for the high quality of the performances and innovative programme.
This year, audiences will have the chance to hear music by Dvorak (Piano Trio No 4 in E minor), Beethoven’s duo for viola and cello, Schumann’s piano quartet in E minor and Elgar piano quintet in A minor.
There are two concerts in this series. The first is on Saturday, August 31, at 8pm and the second is on the following day, Sunday, September 1, at 2.30pm. Both concerts will have suppers or lunches prior to the performances bookable in advance.
