AS OF May 21, Arriva Trains Wales have cancelled the 23:45 train from Swansea to Fishguard.
This means that the “last train home” to Pembrokeshire from Cardiff will be the 21:23 and from Swansea the 22.27 instead of 22:28 and 23:45 respectively.
This not only significantly curtails any day/evening trips to the cities but also has a massive effect on the flights it is possible to take from Bristol or Cardiff and still get home to Pembrokeshire without an overnight stay.
Carmarthen remains well served until the early hours of the morning and it feels that Pembrokeshire is being further shoved out into the sticks when, with the GWR electrification, rail communications should be improving.
