When i talk to people, as i try to encourage them to travel by train, the one question that crops up every time is

"but it costs so much to travel by train; doesnt it?"

Well what do readers of the Western Telegraph think?

If any of you reading this blog live in Pembrokeshire, do you know you as a result of living in the wonderful county you qualify for a local railcard which gives you a third off local train fares? Or if you have a Pembrokeshire County Council bus pass, you can get a half price senior citizens railcard?

Just drop me an e-mail to MYoungman@carmarthenshire.gov.uk and i'll send you the relevant forms, together with more information on how to get real cheap fares like a £14 ticket to London.

Next time on the blog, i'll answer the other common questions people have about railways. But if any reader has a general question that you think is of interest to all other readers, just post it in reply and i'll try to answer it.

See you next time

Mark
