THE RESULTS are in after the first day of competition at the Urdd Eisteddfod in Boncath, Pembrokeshire.

There were early celebrations for local schools with Spittal, Glan Gleddau and Maenclochog all coming away with places on Monday.
Spittal School came third in both the competition for recorder party years 6 and under and the action song for years 6 and under (learner) category.
Aled Lloyd, of Maenclochog School, placed second in Cerdd Dant solo for years two and under, and third in individual recitation for years 2 and under.
Ysgol Glan Cleddau came third in both folk dance for years 4 and under and creative dance for years 6 and under.
