It has quickly become one of the most feared aspects of Ironman Wales: 'Heartbreak Hill' in Saundersfoot.
The hill - real name St Bride's Hill - is an energy-sapping climb that takes it out of even the most hardened of professional athletes.
But, with fantastic support from the local community, the thousands taking part grit their teeth and conquer the climb.
