A GROUP of 12 intrepid co-workers have raised more than £2,000 for charity by taking part in a 100-mile bike ride from Cardiff to Tenby.
The twelve strong group, who all work at Valero Pembroke Refinery, took part in May’s CARTEN100 charity bike ride, raising money for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan also happens to be Pembroke Refinery’s charity of the year.
Mechanical workshop coordinator Shane Clifford, who took part in the race, said: “As a group we all love cycling, and we wanted to raise money for some of the charities close to our hearts.
“The weather conditions on the day made it quite a challenge, but that just made the result even more satisfying.
“We would all like to thank everyone who supported us, and ensured such a fantastic outcome for the charities.”
