THIS month sees the end of an era as The Lighthouse on Stratford Road finally closes.
The building has had a varied history, having started as a roller skating rink, before becoming the much-loved and happily remembered Empire Cinema.
From there, it became the amateur dramatic venue, and wine warehouse, and for the past 27 years, it has been the home of the Milford Haven Christian Fellowship.
It has hosted visitors from all around the world and become known and loved by many.
However, we all grow old.
The fabric of the building is now ‘past its sell-by-date,’ so the members of the Fellowship will join those already established in Nantucket Avenue, and the building hopefully will be developed for housing in keeping with the rest of the street, and a similar purpose-built church and community facility.
