YOU recently published a beautiful picture of Withybush Woods.
As a frequent visitor to the area, I am appalled by the disgusting state of the once beautiful walk.
On a recent visit, I noticed that the picnic area is overgrown with stinging nettles, and the seats are absolutely filthy and covered in green.
The streams require clearing of blocked material and the paths are muddy and becoming overgrown in some areas.
The state of the above has been reported to a councillor who, although not responsible for the area, said that he would refer my objections/observations, to the relevant authorities.
Which he did and was very helpful, returning the call when he had contacted the parties concerned within the hour.
Could I ask if the local council could clear and tidy the area?
A friend of mine has informed me that some 40 years ago, local schoolchildren worked and cleared this area. It is a great shame that the relevant authorities have allowed this area to become nothing more than an eyesore.
