PEMBROKE town clerk has decided to step down from her position at the town council to spend more time with her family after spending 15 months in office.

“It has been lovely working here, everyone is so nice,” town clerk Karen Didcote said.

“It has been a wonderful and changeable time in Pembroke. We have got the regeneration group running and there are lots of different things happening, so it has been very eventful, but it’s time for a change.

“There’s so much going on in the town at the moment and we’ve got lots of different groups working together, so hopefully the new town clerk can continue that work.”

Karen will remain in post until December.

Pembroke Town Councillor Jonathan Nutting said: “We have found Karen a very good town clerk – she has worked very hard and people appreciate the work she has done.

“The town council is already in the throes of looking for a new clerk and there will be an advert on the website and in the paper in due course.”
