I HAVE been greatly encouraged by the many dozens of phone calls and emails I have received since the county council meeting last Thursday, all of which offered congratulations on my stance against the way Pembrokeshire County Council is being run.
As one of 14 county councillors who submitted a Notice of Motion expressing no confidence in the chief executive, Bryn Parry Jones, and as one of the numerous speakers on the day who tried to justify the reason for that Notice of Motion, it was gratifying to note the almost 3,500 hits on the webcast of the meeting.
The webcasting of full council meetings since the end of last year has opened people’s eyes into exactly how county councillors conduct themselves.
The dozens of callers have told me how they are telling friends and relatives who happen to live in wards where they are represented by a councillor belonging to the independent ruling group (and who voted that they had support for the chief executive) that they should be asking their councillors exactly why they came to that decision.
It will be of great interest no doubt to find out what their answers will be. Perhaps we shall see those answers in print in the weeks to come.
