THIRTY-seven businesses took part in the Fishguard and Goodwick Chamber of Trade and Tourism’s window dressing competition last week.
Organised as part of Fish Week celebrations, the competition was judged by the head of Ysgol Bro Gwaun art department, Rachel Williams, year 13 students Nia Tyrrell, Emily Simms and Soffia Lewis Davies with Sarah Lacey, food development officer for Pembrokeshire County Council.
Rachel said: “The standard was so high that it was impossible to narrow them down to three prizes.
“It was a great opportunity for the students to take part in such a popular community event and it made them more aware of the great businesses we have in Fishguard and Goodwick.”
The winning windows were St Mary’s Church and Jane’s Wool Shop, the Fruit and Veg Shop, Snippets and Pure. In the junior section the joint winners were Tenby House and Play Days Nursery.
Chairman Christina Shand presented the certificates to the winners and was stunned by the quality of the entries and the delight of the winners.
“This makes a great shop window for Fishguard and Goodwick,” she added.
