NARBERTH Food Festival is all set to dish up its special mix of treats this weekend, with its organisers vowing to make the event the best yet - for everybody

“With a superb line-up of chefs in the Food Theatre; over 50 stalls selling everything from gourmet garlic to wild boar burgers; an eclectic music line-up; free children’s activities and British Sign Language-interpreted demonstrations and talks, we hope we’ve catered for everyone,” said festival chairman Huw Jones.

Narberth is one of a small number of volunteer-run food festivals to be given Welsh Government funding, and the £8,000 received will help enhance the offering of the not-for-profit event.

Will Holland from Saundersfoot’s acclaimed Coast restaurant, will be amongst chefs starring in the Food Theatre on Saturday with festival patron Angela Gray there on Sunday to give local ingredients a Middle Eastern flavour.

Added Mr Jones: “We’re proud that Narberth Food Festival is part of the west Wales eating experience. It’s not just a successful event in its own right - it also actively promotes local businesses and local chefs, and gives people an experience of the good food on offer in the area.”

The festival is on Narberth’s Town Moor on Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday from 10am-4pm. Its Education Day on Friday will be attended by around 100 local schoolchildren, as well as a group of hearing-impaired youngsters.
