A GLAMOUROUS black-tie event at the Beggar’s Reach, Burton, has raised £2,300 for charity.
Champagne, holiday vouchers and spa treatments were among the prizes on offer at the ball, which was raising money for children with diabetes, and people with Parkinson’s.
It was organised by Marie Morgan, from Llangwm. Marie runs Weight Watchers groups across the county, said she decided to raise money because of the struggle young people with diabetes can face in managing the condition.
“We had a fantastic evening and I definitely believe we will have one again next year,” said Marie.
“We raised £2,300 which I am over the moon with. Last year we had £1,600 so we have blown the amount raised out of the water.
“The support from family, friends members and local business has been outstanding.”
She said she was also extremely grateful to members of her meeting is Pembroke Dock, Haverfordwest and Milford Haven.
“I cannot thank them enough for their constant support,” she said.
A donation from the event will also go to a Parkinson’s charity - a cause close to Marie’s heart.
