MR Paul Miller, in his attempt to woo voters for the forthcoming election has laid out his plans for what he will do if elected.
He states that he “Will work with a clinical advisory group of health professionals to push for the return of paediatric care, recruitment of more A & E consultants and investment in rural community healthcare”.
I fear that Mr Miller has not read the job description for a Westminster MP as there is no remit for him to have any say in the provision of healthcare in our county.
I must remind Mr Miller again that all healthcare is a fully devolved issue and all changes locally have been with the consent of his Labour party in Cardiff.
Does he now say that he disagrees with the decisions made by the Labour ministers Mark Drakeford and Carwyn Jones?
As the control of health is in the hands of the Welsh Government I wonder how the local AMs will feel about him working with groups of health professionals locally.
If he is to be involved so heavily will this not take him away from the role he should be playing if elected, i.e. an MP in Westminster?
