THERE has been an overwhelming response to a DIY SOS put out by St Giles Church in Letterston.
An appeal was made at the end of April for people to give up their time to give the church a much-needed facelift.
The local community, churchgoers, wardens and the vicar all got stuck in, with the help of local builder Geraint Morris and a team from Tesco in Haverfordwest. Together they scraped off layers of old lime wash, painted, cleaned and polished to get the church ready for a wedding on Saturday.
The next plans are to tidy up the churchyard and to modernise the church hall, which has become home to a food bank and community café. If you are interested in finding out more about the projects contact the parish office on 01348840071.
