I note the contribution of Vicky Moller to last weeks paper, and I expect to find my comments described as “witless”

The can be no doubt that wind turbines are a blight in certain special landscapes, and my understanding is that Pembrokeshire Coast National Park planning policy is to determine each one on its merit. To compare traditional stone buildings in sheltered valleys to what are often visually intrusive turbines is misleading. There are areas within our National Park which are pristine and of outstanding natural beauty, and we have a duty to resist developments that would cause damage to this special landscape, be it by turbines or other visual blights.

Many thousands of people visit the National Park because of its very special landscape.

It has never before faced such a combination of threats. Value and treasure what is so special, and don’t join the misconceived rush that is becoming very similar to the failed “dash for gas”

Never before have our special landscapes needed such vigilance.
