PUPILS from Ysgol Bro Ingli in Newport wowed the judges in a recent enterprise competition.

Held in Narberth, Enterprise Troopers saw 32 children from schools across west Wales showcase their business ideas for the future.

Enterprise Troopers is part of the Welsh Government’s Youth Entrepreneurship programme, which aims to inspire and challenge youngsters to develop their own business ideas.

Ysgol Bro Ingli impressed with their business which sells products made from local natural materials. They will now join the victors of other schools from across Wales at the competition finals at the Doctor Who experience in Cardiff on March 22.

Other enterprising ideas at the event came from Cleddau Reach VC Primary, whose unique stationery products earned them the Innovative Business Idea Award.

Minister for Economy Science and Transport, Edwina Hart, said: “It is always impressive to see the wealth of business ideas that come from Welsh primary school children, and from young people across the country in general.

“I congratulate all primary schools who are taking the time and effort to be a part of Enterprise Troopers. These events not only teach students important skills, but motivate them to pursue entrepreneurial careers, which stands them in good stead for the future.”
