AN INVESTIGATION has been launched into a serious house fire in Pembroke following the death of an elderly woman on Wednesday evening, June 29.
The elderly woman, as yet unnamed, was at the property at the time the fire broke out at the semi-detached property at Ashdale Lane, Pembroke, shortly after 7pm.
A Police spokeswoman said: “Dyfed-Powys Police attended a report of a house fire on Ashdale Lane, Pembroke, at approximately 7.15pm on Wednesday, June 29.
“Sadly, the female occupant was found deceased in the property. Next of kin and HM Coroner have been informed.
“Police and fire are investigating to ascertain the cause of the fire.”
Police tape surrounds the property, which also has a red tarpaulin sheet covering the front window.
Flowers have also been left at the scene of the fire.
Three crews from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service dealt with the incident.
