A man has been warned to expect a “significant” jail sentence after he admitted breaking into a property in Fishguard while armed with a crowbar.
Sam Charnley, aged 21, of Wolfsdale Pitt, Wolfsdale, appeared before Judge Peter Heywood at Swansea crown court on Friday and admitted aggravated burglary on September 5.
Charnley admitted his intention had been to cause grievous bodily harm to the occupant.
His wife, Melissa Charnley, aged 30, of the same address, denied the charge.
Brian Simpson, prosecuting, said no evidence would be offered against her and Judge Heywood entered a formal verdict of not guilty.
But he warned her husband that a prison sentence was inevitable and it would be a significant one.
Charnley was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on November 3.
