Police are appealing for vigilance among Pembrokeshire farming communities after a number of badgers were found dead.
The badgers were found by a farmer on his land in the Treffgarne area.
Badger setts were also disturbed.
This is believed to have happened over several months.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who has seen any suspicious activity or vehicles, particularly near to known badger setts.
A police spokesman said: "Anyone with information that could help the investigation, or anyone who suspects someone of taking part in the activity, is asked to contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
