EXTRA time will be given for an examination of the future of one of Haverfordwest’s historic buildings if councillors agree at their meeting tomorrow (Monday).
Pembrokeshire County Council Cabinet will discuss a recommendation that the Welsh Georgian Trust’s ‘lock out agreement’ on carrying out a survey of Foley House be extended until September.
The preservation charity had been granted a three month ‘lock out’ so a full feasibility a viability assessments could be undertaken but due to a delay in funding the project has only recently begun.
Grade II-listed Foley House is considered to be the town’s most important residential property and is famously where Lord Nelson received the Freedom of Haverfordwest in 1802.
It has been empty since 2003 and more than £850,000 was spent by the council building a car park in its grounds which has remained unused since 2011.
Cabinet next meet at County Hall tomorrow July 10
