PUPILS from the St Davids area will be heading to Haverfordwest for school after the summer with a ‘dry run’ of transport arrangements carried out last week.
The temporary move of Ysgol Dewi Sant to Tasker Milward begins in September.
The headteacher and governors from Tasker Milward welcomed their Ysgol Dewi Sant counterparts to bring them up to-date with the necessary alterations to part of the site to accommodate the pupils.
Pupils from St Davids will be bussed to school in town while improvements are carried out at their school.
It is planned that all St Davids pupils will have an opportunity to visit the Haverfordwest site prior to commencement of the Autumn Term.
The Chairman of Tasker Milward Governors, Paul Lucas, welcomed the group, at the same time paying tribute to the staff and pupils of both schools for assisting in this venture.
Cllr David Lloyd, as Chairman of the Governors of Ysgol Dewi Sant, thanked Tasker Milward for their assistance in providing facilities for his school.
“Both Governing Bodies considered that the temporary re-organisation of both schools might well assist each unit and help to cement a lasting friendship over the years between pupils and staff alike. The Governors were most appreciative of the staff input,” a statement added.
