A FORMER mayor of Haverfordwest has raised £700 for charity after running a 10k race – and he is in his eighties.
In September, Charles Davies, the president of Haverfordwest RFC, Master of the Guild of Freemen, and ex-mayor and sheriff of the town completed the Cardiff 10k run.
He ran it at 85 years old, raising £700 for Prostate Cymru, a national charity which raises awareness about Prostate Cancer and supports those living with the disease.
Friends of Mr Davies find it hard to believe he is in his 85th year, and he regularly trains at the town gym.
He presented a cheque from his efforts to Judith Griffiths and Dai Davies from Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru.
The pair congratulated him on his incredible achievement and thanked him for the amount raised.
