A CRASH near Freemens Way yesterday evening resulted in the death of a 43-year-old man, police have confirmed.
He has been named as Mark Waite from Pembroke Dock.
Police continue to appeal for witnesses.
Senior Investigating Officer PC Rob Muckle, of Dyfed-Powys Police, said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision between a milk tanker and a motorcycle – a blue scooter - in the centre of Haverfordwest.
“The collision happened at Salutation Square at approximately 4.30pm yesterday (Thursday, 15 February).
"Sadly, the 43-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene.
"His next of kin has been informed; our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
“We know both vehicles had been travelling in to Haverfordwest town from the direction of Scotchwell roundabout.
“Anyone who was travelling along this road around the time, or saw the collision, is asked to contact Pembrokeshire Roads Policing Unit by calling 101, quoting reference 228.”
Crew from Haverfordwest Fire Station were first on the scene, shortly after 4.34pm.
They remained there until 11.14pm, assisting in preseving the scene.
An ambulance spokesman said: "We were called at approximately 4.40pm to reports of a road traffic accident where a lorry had collided with a moped.
"We sent one emergency ambulance and one advanced paramedic practitioner to the scene.
"We left the scene at approximately 7.15pm."
Freemens Way was closed for several hours following the collision, while police investigated.
It re-opened in the early hours.
Update: Freemans Way remains closed, Salutation Squard is also closed and motorists can not turn off the A40 onto New Road, Haverfordwest. Traffic remains very heavy.

Cars were diverted away from New Road/Uzmaston, and Salutation Square Roundabout (near Aldi and the train station).
Queues along the A40 from Arnold's Hill/Narberth were up to a mile long while emergency services closed off the crash scene.
Traffic also backed up along Prendergast, leading to the Fishguard and Cardigan main roads.
