A HAVERFORDWEST opticians has donated nearly 200 high-visibility vests to local schools to help keep children safe in darker evenings.

Specsavers Haverfordwest store directors, Andy Britton and Paul Skoczek, donated 183 vests to schools across Pembrokeshire to help ensure pupils are visible to all road users when they are on school trips.

Pupils at Redhill Preparatory School, Fenton Community Primary School, Puncheston Community Primary School, Spittal V.C.P School and The Meads Infant and Nursery School benefitted from the donation.

Andy Britton says: ‘We are proud of the strong community links we have developed and are keen to help keep local children safe, particularly when the evenings are dark and the weather is poor.

‘We donated vests to a number of schools this year so that children across the county benefited, one of which was my son’s school. It’s important to me that as many young people as possible are helped to be safe and seen on the roads and I’m sure the Specsavers high-visibility vests will help towards this.’
