EMERGENCY services came to the rescue of two people whose boat became stuck in the mud over the bank holiday weekend in the Black Tar area of Llangwm.

HM Coastguard Milford Haven and Mid Wales Fire and Rescue were called at 1pm, on Sunday, May 6, to Llangwm Ferry Pill, where two people had become stranded in a small dinghy as the falling tide had left it aground on the banks of Llangwm Ferry Pill.

The fire service’s boat crews from Milford Haven and Carmarthen led the rescue, and used inflatable mud mats to reach the couple on the boat.

A fire engine from Haverfordwest also attended, as did a water ranger from the Port of Milford Haven.

“We went out to them using the mud mats. When they were brought ashore they were fine and no medical attention was required.”

“They were tasked to a report of a small boat that had become stuck in the mud at Llangwm Ferry Pill.
